There's a new Popcorn in town - Ikorn - King Of Korn

There's a new brand of Popcorn in town. Ikorn - The King of Korn

I love popcorn, always have. In the winter months, I tend to stay in a lot more and chill out at home. So I like Movie Nights, and of course Movie Nights must require popcorn. It's just something that we've always had. Whenever you go to the cinema, buying popcorn just goes part and parcel. So it's now formed a habit that you need something to munch on whilst watching a film. Thank goodness popcorn is actually a really healthy snack, much better than snacking on countless amounts of chocolates. So .... bring on the popcorn !!! However, some brands like to coat the popcorn in caramel or toffee or even chocolate to be more like a sweet treat, which is ok in moderation, but some brands are so sweet and artificial it ruins the fact that it is a fantastic low calorie snack. Ikorn want to remind everyone that popcorn is a healthy snack and they can provide one of the best option for you as they only use Coconut Oil to cook the Popcorn in.
After researchubg there are absolutely loads of popcorn brands out there, however there are just a few that are made with coconut oil. We all know that coconut oil is extremely healthy for us and is much more beneficial than other cooking oils. We've been encouraged to use it instead of oils, butters and spreads so.... it makes sense to cook Popcorn in it too.
Ikorn is a British based brand and they've only just launched last year so it's all still very new. This unfortunately means that they are currently not in the shops just yet. But I'm sure they'll be at variois foodie festivals this year to showcase the Popcorn.

Ikorn produce just two types of popcorn at present, the Premium and the Health Kick range.

You have the Premium Ikorn which is Sweet or Salted and sold in 25g bags with only 116 calories per bag.

The Health Kick Range Ikorn uses virgin coconut oil and Himalayan Salt at only 113 calories per bag.

I thoroughly enjoyed eating Ikorn, as I like the fact that I can eat and eat and I know that its a healthy option and I actually feel fuller eating popcorn than other options. A bag of Ikorn is the equivalent to a small fudge bar, which wouldn't even touch the sides if I ate it. So I would end up eating more to fill me up, which can lead to a whole evening of eating. At least with Ikorn, I am happy with one bag and I'm done for the night. They all tasted really good. I do like the sweet, but the Himalayan Salted was my favourite.

I would definitely recommend trying this new brand or even stocking it if you have a shop, or even a bar.
You can buy Ikorn in bulk direct from their website www.ikorn.co.uk with boxes of 12 plus. These are also great for parties or for keeping in your cupboards until movie night is on.  You wont be disappointed. I promise.

What do you prefer Sweet or Salted Popcorn ?
