Bali Nutra Coconut Syrup

This bottle of Bali Nutra Coconut Syrup is a very intriguing product. There's a lot of coconut products in the supermarkets and shops at the moment. All trying to help us become more healthy and avoid sugary products. Coconut milk and coconut waters for example.
This is 100% natural coconut syrup. This is achieved by actually collecting the sap from the coconut tree flowers. I had never heard of this before, and I didn't even know that coconuts produced edible sap.

I have always liked coconut though, whether it be fresh from the coconut or desiccated coconut that I used to add to recipes. Coconut cake was a great one to make, or sprinkling the desiccated coconut over jam in a Victoria sponge. Simple, but tastes like summer.
This syrup has 17 amino acids and 10 minerals, which include potassium, zinc and iron. Has absolutely nothing added to it, and is obviously suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Once opened, it must be kept in the fridge and used within 30 days, however the shelf life is a couple of years......bonus! So if you do forget you have it, it will more than likely be absolutely fine.
As a family, I have tested it on everyone. Neither of my kids, or my husband like fresh coconut, so I thought this would be a challenge.  My husband didn't like the smell at all, but he has always disliked coconut. However, the kids liked the smell, so that's good.
I can't really describe the smell apart from the most concentrated coconut smell ever. It tastes pretty much how it smells too. It's not like fresh coconut, it's a heavy coconut smell. It's very intense. I like it.
The producers have suggested to use it in tea or coffee instead of sugar. We tried this, and, we failed, as we are used to having sweet tea, but I'm sure over time, we would have just got used to it.
They also describe it as the 'maple syrup' of the tropics, so I thought I'd use it as an alternative.
Myself and the kids have had it included in our breakfasts, and it's been a success....Woohoo!
We tried it drizzled inside mini brioches, drizzled over mini pancakes, in porridge and in banana smoothies.
All extremely tasty. The syrup gives your food that kick of something special.

Banana Smoothie for 3 !
2 bananas, pint of milk and 3 tablespoons of Bali Nutra a coconut Syrup all whizzed up in my amazing kitchen aid.
Delicious ! We all downed ours, and have done every morning.
It's something new and exciting. I would definitely recommend trying it.
Bali Nutra Syrup can be bought from Amazon or Direct from the suppliers.
Read their website here for further details and for some recipe ideas.
Another wonderful reason to buy Bali Nutra is because 10% of all profits goes back to Bali, and helps build orphanages and helps with programmes designed to improve the waste infrastructure on the island.
Fantastic news, as it's great and super healthy too !
