Middletons Steakhouse & Grill - Watford

Watford is in the midst of a huge redesign. Over the past couple of years, restaurants have been popping up all over the high street, in the wake of the shopping mall Intu Watford being transformed into a huge shopping, cinema complex like many other towns have.
A new restaurant is Middletons Steak House & Grill.

The first Middletons opened in 2011 in Middleton, Norfolk. Within a short time, they have had been very successful and opened a further four restaurants in Kings Lynn, Colchester, Norwich and Milton Keynes. I think this is due to them supplying their own meat from their own Middleton Butchers. Therefore it is fresh every day. I really liked the Watford restaurant, its lovely and relaxed, the service was impeccable. I thought the staff were all really friendly and clearly knew the menu well. We generally go out when its quiet as the kids dinner time is around 5.00pm, so wherever we go, its nice and quiet, and then I can get a few photos of the restaurant area.
This is as you walk in, and you can see right into the kitchen to see the chefs plating up.
Lovely sofa areas and actually very comfortable chairs.
We sat down at our table and immediately noticed the humongous steak knife on the table. These were very quickly taken away from the kids - Brilliant touch !! So after seeing the knife, the husband decided...steak it is !!
We were given water straight away along with our menus.
They have a kids menu which is £4.95 for two courses, which is fantastic value. And....I must add, I was very impressed with their choices which included Vegetable and Halloumi skewers, burger, battered haddock and chicken nuggets. Mine little man chose a Burger , and my girl chose the battered haddock with big fat wedges instead of those....skinny little fries kids normally get. They love Halloumi, but we eat that quite often (me being half Greek, its generally in the fridge anyways). They were both really good value and the kids enjoyed their dinner. My little man decided to help Daddy with his ribs, so much so that I think he ate most of them....
Both the children were given colouring placemats with a huge bowl of crayons. I love this, as it keeps them busy and it has puzzles and word searches too.
My husband had the Middletons Grill for £17.95 which included a 6oz steak, piri piri chicken breast, sticky BBQ ribs and onion rings with a side course of Greek salad. It was presented really nicely, and it was really tasty. Yes, of course I had to try....No complaints from me. Couldn't fault it actually.
I chose a Chicken Club at £10.95 which was a huge chicken breast with bacon and salad, with a side portion of Greek Salad. This was really good too. Chicken was cooked to perfection.
We all pretty much finished everything.
Perfect Greek Salad, with plenty of feta !!
For desserts it was a very quick decision of Lemon Tart  for £4.95 and Eton Mess for £4.75. (Luckily for us adults the children didn't want to try ours...phew....that actually meant we could eat all of our desserts ourselves !!!)

The Eton mess sure did look like a mess, but wow oh wow. I'm glad I got to eat it all, as it was perfect. It still had chunks of meringue and half strawberries mixed into it all, I loved it.
The Kids both had the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream. This went down very well...after they picked out the walnuts and gave them to me.

I would definitely recommend Middletons. I think the menu is great, the service in Watford was great and I liked the d├ęcor too, and price wise it was very good value. I'm pretty good at finding faults, but, I just couldn't find anything at Middletons. I've told most of my friends that they must try it, and a few already have tables booked for the weekend. Its definitely one of my top five in Watford.
