Healthy Drink Options

I have been cutting down on sugar this year - not completely though, just cutting down. So I thought I would share some great drinks that I have at home at present. Some of these I have all the time and some are a special treat.

With my Nutribuddy Protein Shake I like to mix it up a bit and try different milks. I generally have Alpro Almond Milk, but my other options include Coconut Milk, Oat Milk and Hemp Milk. I do still have Cows milk, but these are just dairy free alternatives to consider.

These drinks are all suitable for anyone with an allergen as they are all free from dairy, nuts, gluten, soya and any animal fats so they are also suitable for vegetarians and vegans. So....basically Everyone !!

Hemp Milk is great for the environment as well as your body. Its one of the oldest crops in the world and really healthy for you. Plus it is grown and produced in the UK. So this is a good one to buy.
Coconut Milk comes from abroad in the tropics and is part of many peoples staple diet.
Oat Milk is very simply oats and water with a touch of salt. This particular brand is produced in Sweden.
I love all of these milks and would highly recommend for everyone to try them as an alternative to Cows Milk. They are lower in fat too, so they can help to your weight loss goals. They do all taste different, so you'll have to buy them to see which you prefer.

Other drinks that I have as my treats are coconut waters and aloe vera water. These are lovely and refreshing and great to keep you hydrated.
If its on offer at the supermarket I will always buy VitaCoco Coconut Water as it seems sweeter than any other brands that I try, plus they have fun kiddie versions too.
Another brand that I really like is fairly new to me, and that's King Coconut Water. Its a different coconut and it tastes even sweeter and is really smooth to drink. Its really good for you , so much so that they call it a Living Pharmacy in Asia. Plus its actually very pretty with its pink colour.

Another of my favourites is Aloe Vera. I'm quite fussy with this particular drink, and I have tasted loads, but I have to say that Simplee Aloe is by far my favourite. I discovered them at a foodie festival and if I see it in the shops I will buy some. This is a treat for me, as it is quite costly. My kids absolutely love this brand too and they now have new flavours to add to its collection.
Refreshing sparkling drinks with No added sugar are becoming huge in the market. Here's a couple that I personally recommend.
This is Qcumber, a sparkling cucumber drink. I absolutely love cucumber as it really is amazingly good for you, and to be able to have it in all different ways, makes it even more appealing. This brand is delicious and really is a very refreshing drink. It tastes clean (if you know what I mean) and you know that its as pure as it comes. It's as simple as cucumber and sparkling water. I find this really easy to drink and an excellent way to enjoy the bubbles the good way.
Newtons is another brand that I really love. Its just apples blended with sparkling water. You just cant go wrong with this. There is no added nasties, its just a beautiful drink that is very easy to drink.
Healthy drink supplements include Guarana, this is a coffee alternative as it is very high in caffeine. This is a powder from the seeds of Paulinia Cupana. It has high carbohydrates, protein and fibre, so this is great in the morning to keep you going without having to down a load of coffee. ( I actually don't drink coffee, never have, I cant stand the taste). You can add it to your morning smoothie or shakes. Perfect for people loosing weight, athletes, and it enlightens the brain. It certainly has kept my eyes open today !!

Have you tried any of my options or do you have any healthy drink options that I can add to my collection ?

2018 UPDATE FROM NUTRIBUDDY:
We’re going Vegan!
As Nutribuddy has developed over time, we naturally started to head in a more ethical direction. It felt right. Every product we launched after the Sculpting Whey Protein was naturally vegan. We also started attracting many vegan customers. It wasn’t just that we wanted to accommodate for vegan customers but we actually felt passionate about the move to launch more vegan products. Changing to completely vegan is something we really felt passionate about doing. It lines up with our brand values and means that all our products are suitable for everyone! As a new start-up company, we needed time to find out what was right for us. 2 years on I can happily say we have found the right route and that involves being a vegan brand. Our customers and team are a mix of vegans, vegetarians and omnivores. The one thing we all share in common is caring about the food we eat and the environmental impact of food and packaging.

Essential Cuisine Stocks - Lets Get Cooking !!

I love cooking, always have. I'm not an amazing cook, but I do understand flavours. I used to use stock all the time in my cooking as it adds lovely natural flavours.
I was sent a selection of Essential Cuisine stock to try out at home. I asked for stock that could be used in risottos, as that is a recipe that always need stock and with risotto you can get very creative with your flavours.

Phoenix Fitness Products - Workout at Home !!

I've come across a really good website that sells all sorts of wonderful fitness and travel items, as well as home and kids stuff. Its a website full of wonderful goodies and something for everyone.
However, for now, I'm going to tell you about a few fitness items I have at home that are from the website.
I've been trying my hardest to get fit and healthy this year. I've lost the weight I wanted, and now I'm trying to tone up when I have the time. However, I'm not a gym person, so I prefer to exercise at home. I do wish I had a gym partner sometimes, but with having kids my times clash with others. So being at home, is better than nothing !!
The items I have are the Ab Roller, the Light Resistance Tube and a Pedometer so I know how many steps I've done a day, or a walk.

The Ab Roller is £10.99 and you have to fit it together yourself. Very easy to assemble and takes five seconds. This is harder than it looks with practice, I'm getting there. This helps with your core muscles and also strengthens your whole body. I spoke a fitness friend and she recommended I only do the exercise that it shown on the box and to be very careful whilst using this, as mistakes could cause back strains, so do as it says, and all will be fine. However, I have enjoyed using this, I'm still only using it for a short time but you can really feel it working. The handles are padded foam, so it is comfortable to hold for a long period of time. This is also recommended to be used on a mat, not just any floor. So although I have been using it in my kitchen as its flat, you do need something under your knees. So I will be ordering a Phoenix fitness mat next!! As that's super stylish !
The Light Resistance Tube is £6.99, and comes in Light, Medium and Strong. So depending on your fitness levels, you can make it easy or harder. Its up to you. I've gone for the light, as for now, that's good enough for me. In the future I can move up to the medium level.
I really enjoy using this. Its super easy and you can do it for as long as possible. The handles are padded so it's comfortable to use. I prefer to put both my feet on the elastic whilst standing and then just raise my arms up into biceps curls or I'll raise to the side. You can basically pull them in any direction you like. Its really good for toning up the arms and of course you can do different exercises with them to include squats like they say on the box. You can use it for your entire body. I do not recommend sitting on the floor with your legs straight out and holding the elastic under your feet,as the elastic can swing back and get you right in the face....lesson learnt !!
This is also great, as it doesn't take up much room and can be hidden in a draw or box when its not being used.
The Pedometer is £10.99. I wanted this so I could track my steps whilst out walking. I keep reading about the 10k step a day challenge and that we should all be doing this daily. If you go walking for an hour a day, you've pretty much smashed it. However, sometimes this isn't possible, especially if you sit for long periods of the day in an office, so you can use the pedometer to keep track of your steps throughout the day. It has the time, step counts, km counter and calories burnt off counter. These pictures are taken after I've spent time sitting, and just generally walking around the house for a couple of hours. When I go out for walks, I've generally finished at 9k steps, which makes me feel good, as I've achieved something each day. If I'm honest, I haven't kept it on all day as once I've reached a certain number and I'm happy, I don't need to know how many more steps I've done. Saying that, it is really comfortable as you just clip it onto your trousers or shorts at your hip bone and go from there. You can forget you're wearing it. This is a good accessory to have. The only negative on this is you cant keep track on an app, or get a print out of the results. This is purely a digital counter.

Next on my list is the Fitness Mat, the kettle bells and the dumbells to get. Get yours too, and lets do this together !

My Floatworks Experience - London

Life can be hectic and very stressful at times and we all need to just sit back and relax. It's what we call Me Time. It's a time to remember who you are and not let anything get in the way. I was in desperate need of this. Being a stay at home mum, it can be difficult to switch off and just relax, as there is always something to do. My Me Time generally starts about 9pm if I'm lucky and that's just time to catch up on my favourite TV programmes...but in that time, I still might get a wash load in or fill or empty the dishwasher. So when I get to go out with my friends, I love it. So I thought I would double up the experience, with giving them Me Time too.

When I was younger and on a ski-ing trip with School in France, I got to experience a float tank. It was a large bath with a pull down cover that had a really large amount of Salt in it which then lets you float when you enter. Just like the Dead Sea. I remember it being wooden and very long. The idea of a float tank is just to Relax and let all the worries just slip away. At 16 I did it for fun and to experience something new. It was an experience I never forgot and always wanted to do it again.

There was a Floatworks in London, but I just never got around to going, and when I could and had the time, it then shut down. I was so disappointed as I kept seeing it everywhere and kept saying....yep, one day I'll book myself in....well it just never happened.

However....its back !! Under new management, but still with the old owners involved, and in a bright new location. It only reopened in April 2016 so its still very new.
